Jharkhand has become now a polished state but it was mainly dominated by tribals, even the main inhabitants are tribals such as the Birhors (forest people) still live in kumbas made of leaf. The Lohar still practice the dying craft of blacksmithy. The Asurs, who migrated from the Gangetic plains, are believed to be the first iron smelters of the subcontinent. Of the 30 different tribes spread over the Chhotanagpur region, the Santhals are the most predominant and the amicable Mundas, the most ancient. Jharkhand had been always rich with natural wealth. The invaders encroached upon its land to grab its natural wealth. The Mughal generals under Akbar and Jehangir invaded this territory for the sake of its diamond and gold deposits. Sher Shah came all the way to fight the Raja of Jharkhand to obtain the white elephant Shyama Chandra. The state has interesting hot spots like Deoghar, Rajrappa and Parasnath, the Jain pilgrimage center atop the highest hill in Jharkhand.

Dassam FallsA small river known as Kanchi flows through the village Taimara, which is located about 40 km away from Ranchi on Tata road. Dassam falls is scenci waterfalls hangs from a height of about 144 feet, also popularly known as Dassam Ghagh that surrounded with excellent scenery.
Jagannathpur Temple And Hills
It is located 10 km from Ranchi General Post Office. It is quite an old temple built in 1691 in the same pattern of Puri Jagannath temple, seems like a fort on the top of the hills. The temple organizes chariot festivals every year.
Angrabadi
A temple complex, which afford to have plenty temples in a one compound. It accommodates the temple of Ram Sita, Hanuman, Shiva and Lord Ganpati. The surrounding place is also captivating.
Betla National Park
Situated in the district of Daltonganj, Palamau Sanctuary is spread over an area of 979sq.km. The park has wide range of biodiversity promotes a wide variety of flora and fauna. The vegetation of park consist of tropical evergreen forests, deciduous and alpine forests. various fauna includes elephant, panther, leopard, wild boar, tiger, gaur, sloth bear, sambhar, nilgai, langur, mongoose, jackals, porcupine and many others. It is one of the finest parks in eastern India and you can observe a diverse form of wildlife from close range. There are elephant rides and jeeps available with guides and spotlight for venturing inside the park.

Jharkhand art and craft is renowned all over India. It is famous for its wood work, bamboo works, pitkar paintings, tribal ornaments and stone carving. The beautiful carved wood products and bamboo products show the craftsmanship of the people but lack of recognization and promotion has led it to gradual extinction. The bamboos found in Jharkhand forest are thin and flexible and artisans make different artifacts like baskets, hunting and fishing equipments.
