A small hamlet in the northern part of Goa, is famous for its two beautiful
beaches. The main Harmal beach is with clean sand, stone bays and fresh
water pools good for swimming. Another Querim Beach is 5km north of Arambol.
This beach is also quite suitable for swimming but more serene and calm than
Arambol beach. The rocky cliffs are famous for adventure sports like
paragliding.
Modern Arambol is strewn around an area of high ground west of the main
coast road. From here, a bumpy lane runs downhill to the more traditional
fishing quarter, clustered under a canopy of widely spaced palm trees. The
main beach lies 200m further along a lane that the predominantly British,
festival going tourist population call Glastonbury Street. The beach is
scattered with wooden boats and cafe bars, the bay is ideal for bathing.
Near by Lakeside beach is another treasure. To walk to the north, beyond the
rocky bottomed cove, the trail finally ends to a broad strip of white sand
hemmed in on both sides by steep cliffs. Behind the beach, a small fresh
water lake goes along the valley into a thick jungle.

become a heritage hotel.
