Location - Colva is a small village in south Goa, 39km from Panjim. 2km further ahead from Colva is Benaulim.
How To Reach - The nearest airport is Dabolim(68km). The nearest railhead is at Karmali(11km) that connects with other cities of Goa. Frequent buses are available from Colva to Margao(6km) and Panjim(33km).
Where To Stay - There are plenty of resorts and low budget hotels available in Colva.

Colva is a small village in the southern part of Goa, gained immense popularity of becoming a hottest beach resort. The main reason of visiting the place because of double bonanza of Colva and Benaulim beaches. The long stretch of Colva beach is adorned with silvery sand, palm fringed and sun drenched ambiance. Though the beaches got recognition much later unlike Anjuna or Calangute but soon it became a hot tourist destination. Benaulim is on the other hand, still to get rid of its virginity and has many aspects to be exploited. Benaulim beach is not more than 2km from Colva and most of the time remains in serenity.

Despite of being little obscure beaches of Goa, Benaulim beach is no dearth of attractive stalls that provides mouth watering food while lazing around the beach. Most of the overland travelers prefer to have a sun bath in the beach because of less disturbance by hawkers and less glances by general public. Recently these two white stretch of sand becomes South Goa's main tourist beaches. But in spite of crowd, the Colva and Benaulim beaches retains their charms. It is always deserted in the mornings. Even after the hordes descend, one can walk half a kilometer up or down the beach and have a great deal of solitude. Also bikes can be hired near the bus stand in Colva and on the beach in Benaulim. It is advisable to avoid walking from the beach alone at night.

Sights And Activities
Nossa Senhora de Merces( Our Lady of Mercy) Church
The prime monumental attraction, is established in 17th century. The church is famous for its annual religious event Fama of Menino Jesuse(child Jesus) on the third Monday of October every year. This day a huge fair is organized on this auspicious occasion.

Bull Fights
Bull fights have been organized at Benaulim from early October to late May from 4 pm onwards. Konkani music playing, the bullfights are usually take place in an old rice field with no fences or barricades just outside the village.

Adventure Activities
Colva beach is an excellent place to engage in many adventure activities. Due to growing demands, water sports have introduced at Colva. Among many water sports, parasailing and jet skiing available in the high season. Dolphin tours and fishing are also very popular at Colva.

Colva And Benaulim Fairs
The famous fair is beach bonanza that occurs on successive Sundays from mid April onwards, where people from distant places throng the place and engage in live music, dance and other entertainment.

Colva beach has various trinket shops where you can shop for some beautiful artifacts, antiques and souvenirs. Open eateries serve you with delicious seafood and Portuguese cuisines.
