Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary

In Molem Bhagwan Mahavir Sanctuary in Molem is Goa's largest life sanctuary, lies in the forlorn village of Molem. The sanctuary covers an area of 240 sq.km. The landscape is rich with nature's beauty, firmly nestled on the foothills of the Sahyadri Range and covered by dense forests, the sanctuary is surely catch attention because of its exotic flora and fauna. The forest covers with evergreen and deciduous flora. Various types of wildlife animals also can be seen, only requirement is patience. The best place to view the sanctuary is, Devil's Canyon View. this is an unusual combination of rocks,canyon and underground channel through Dudhsagar River flows for some time. The sanctuary houses gaurs(Indian bison), sambar, leopards, spotted deer, slender loris, jungle cats, endangered Malayan squirrels, pythons, Indian cobra and many other reptiles.

Dudhsagar falls is literally mean ocean of milk. Naming is quite appropriate as the white curtain of water plunges down 2000 feet seems milky foam steeps from a stupendous height. Dudhsagar fall lies on the eastern border with Karnataka , this 603m waterfalls not only Goa's most impressive waterfalls but also India's second highest. The rapid Mandovi river branches into three cascades to form this mighty waterfalls. To see the falls from a distance is enough enough fun but some more enthusiasts can opt for swimming at the bottom of the falls. Other adventurers try their spirit to climb up to the head of the falls through bushes, boulders and water. It is a tough climb and takes about 2 hours.

The falls are easily reached through a 2 hour long train journey from Margoa or Vasco.

Loutolim

A small village cautiously preserve relics of a bygone age. The village is 10km northeast of Margao. The place is famous for number of imperial Portuguese mansions here but the only one officially open to the public is the 250 year old Casa Arajao Alvarez though it lacks much of the atmosphere of the houses of Chandor. Another mansion Figueiredo House is worth to visit. Also in the village and set up purely for tourists, Ancestral Goa is a re creation of Goan village life under the Portuguese a century ago. There are huge lifesize figures, stone sculpture and large foot print that serve as a dance floors. There is also a restaurant where travelers can get a taste of the exotic Goan cuisine.

Bogmalo And Arossim

Bogmalo is a quiet village, situated 4km from the airport, has a pleasant sandy cove dominated by five star Bogmalo Beach Resort. The are number of numerous adventure and leisure activities take place in the beach. Different water sports such as water skiing are common at the beach. There is a mini Diving School teaches novice divers. Also they operates guided tours to view coral beads on the reef.

Just south of Velsao, there is a serene village and beach known as Arrossim. It is continues beach that finishes 15 miles away by the River Sal. The white silvery sand covers the beach and palm fringed landscape make it more picturesque. There is a luxury Park Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa is located on the stretch. At the end of the beach, there is an elevated position called 'Zeebop', which is nice place to enjoy the splendid sunset.
