These days, the small settlement is a cross between a museum and a living center for the proclamation of Gandhian philosophies. Interested visitors can spend couple of days here helping in the field, attend the discussion and prayer meetings. Still in the ashram sadhaks continue to liven up the dying art of hand spinning. The real focal point of the ashram is the its compound. The modest rustic huts including the Mahatmas residence is preserve exactly the way they were in erstwhile.

Sights And Activities
Adi NiwasAdi Niwas was the first hut built at the ashram. Gandhiji put condition to make this hut as he stood against spending more than Rs 500 on the hut. The hut was built by the material available. He used to live one corner of the hut along with him Abdul Gaffar Khan, Saint Tukoji and his wife Kasturba lived. You can see the personal effects of the great man including his famous walking stick.
Akhiri Nivas
The last residence of Gandhi before he left for Noakhali. After that he never came back to ashram. The weighing machine used by him is still there inside the hut.
Kishor Nivas
The only structure that was built by bricks and cement. Mahatma Gandhis close associate Kishorlal Mashruwala and part time editor of the paper Harijan Weekly stayed in this hut for quiet some time.
Follow The Morning Prayer
If you wish you could stay at the ashram for two days. the best part of the ashram is morning and evening prayer. Prayer conducts in every morning and evening at an open space surrounded by bamboo lining. The place is surfaced with stones and sand to free from mud during rainy season. Though the ashram is not a place for spiritual enlightenment still you will feel sense of serenity deep inside your soul.
