Due to the diverse culture, magnificent monuments, forts and palaces, huge rivers, snowy mountain ranges, barren desert, placid lakes, North India places are the most sought after tourist destinations of India.

North India is blessed with one of the youngest mountain ranges in the world i.e the mighty Himalayan mountain ranges. Situated at the northern fringe of India, Himalayan mountain ranges plays an significant role in regulating the climatic condition and protection of India from its enemies . This mountain range have some of the world's highest snow peaks namely Kanchenjunga, which attracts thousands of adventure lovers every year. Another main aspect of North India is the fertile Gangetic plains which plays key role in the development of our country. These region is mainly an agricultural area. Thanks to the river Ganga and its tributaries.

Northern India has no dearth of attractive locales. It is embellished with some of the finest hill stations of India, nestled in Himalayas such as Srinagar, Gulmarg, Manali, Chopta etc, with diverse flora and fauna, outstanding historical monuments from the bygone era .

The zone also boast some of the famous World Heritage sites like Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, and Red Fort and encompasses important pilgrimage sites like Char Dham, Kailash mansarovar, Varanasi with few thrilling adventure sites.

Gangetic plains of North India are so fertile that some of the major North Indian cities were developed in this region. These cities are the prominent share holder in India's economic growth. Delhi, the nation capital is the melting pot of various communities of India. Apart from Delhi, other important cities of North India are Dehradun, Shimla, Allahabad, Lucknow, Varanasi. With the gradual passage of time, various kinds of industries also develops in these cities.

Culture of North India:-


Culture of North India has roots in the ancient Indus valley civilization and developed more in the Vedic period, during the era of rise and decline of Buddhism, Golden Age, Muslim reign and British raj. These chapters of Indian history have left a tremendous impact over the culture of North India. Today, the culture of North India is a fine synthesis of various customs and traditions belonging to the Indo-Aryan, Mughals and British people who ruled our country for several years. The traditional attire of North Indian ladies are Sari, Salwar-kamiz, Ghagra-choli etc whereas men wears white dhotis, kurta pyjama and colorful turban. The classical music form which is available in North India is known as Hindustani Shastriya music and the classical dance form of this region is Kathak. Apart from this classical dance form, North India is also famous for its folk music and dance like Bhangra, Giddha, Hikat, Dumhal, Hurka Baul etc. Last but not the least, some of the popular North Indian delicacies are Makki ki roti and Sarson da saag, Shahi paneer, Seekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken and many more.


Festivals of North India:-


Apart from various national festivals, North India has some unique festivals which are only confined to the people of this region. For instance, Holi, Diwali, Ram Navami, Dusshera, Janmashtami, Rakshabandan, Bhayia Dhuj, Baisakhi, Holla Mohalla, Phulaich, Teej, Gangore, Sanjhi etc. North Indians celebrates these festivals with all pomp and glamor.
