
The Onkadelli market just an hour journey from Jeypore is must see place where one can find tribal crafts and artifacts. Also market is an excelent place to understand the tribal people lifestyle. Accommodation is limited but not a problem. There are mainly two hotels that caters to outside visitors. Hotels are comfortable and option of a/c and non a/c. There is newly established bus terminus, just 2km out of town but they stops in the town to pick up passengers.
Sights And Activities
KoraputIt takes about one hour to reach to reach Koraput. There is a Tribal Museum that preserve the extensive static exhibit of tribal culture, including utensils, tools and clothes. There are paintings for sell. For people who are devoid of Puri Jagannath temple, the Jagannath temple in Koraput is no less. There is an exhibition of gods of the different states of India. At the back of the temple is series of apses containing statuettes of Jagannath in his various guises and costumes.
Onkedelli
This is the most visited place by travelers. Travelers make Jeypore as the base for visiting this incredible market. This small village is 65km from Jeypore and famous for its vibrant 'haat'or market. The market is crowded with various people from various villages like Bonda, Gadaba and Didai. You can't just take a photographs without the consent of the subject. Market is a good place to collect excellent souvenirs in a cheap rate. Alcohol is an important ingredient in this social event, combined with the hunting bows and arrows. It is advisable to take a professional guide with you.
Gupteshwar Cave
This cave temple is located 64km west of Jeypore, dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are small chambers and passages to explore alongside the lingam's grotto. It is better to take a torch with you.
Kotpad
This industry town is 40km north of Jeypore on the road to Sambalpur, specially famous for fabric dyeing industry. Along the lanes you'll see ropes of thread in a rich range of colors from red and burgundy to brown laid out to dry.
