
The trek is of six days and covers 94 km distance passes through some unimaginable remote places dwelt by few shepherds and offers wonderful views of towering Himalayas. The trek begins and finishes at Song (1140m), a village 36 km north of Bageshwar. High altitude sickness is one of the problem trekkers often faces. Arrange your guide or porters from either Almora or Bageshwar. Alternatively, KMVN organizes all inclusive trek for Rs 3500. Lone trek can also be possible. One has to take bus or share jeep to Song from Bageshwar via Almora, Kausani.
Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Bageshwar - Song - Loharkhet(1750 M /5775 Ft)Song or Saung is the starting point of Pindari Glacier trek. From Bageshwar to Song takes around 2 hours by bus. From Song trek to Loharkhet around 4 km. Loharkhet is the place from wher original trek starts. Overnight stay at tents.
Day 2: Loharkhet - Dhakuri (2680 M / 8844 Ft)
Early morning 11 km trek to some depths of valley and climb to Dhakuri, which is 2680m. Rest for the day.
Day 3: Dhakuri - Khati (2210 M / 7293 Ft)
Next morning trek 8 km to Khati, small village but the largest one in the route situated on the banks of the Pindar Ganga. Kumaon people are extremely friendly and hospitable. Overnight stay in tents or village huts(according to your arrangements).
Day 5: Khati - Dwali (2575 M/8498 Ft)
Next day further climb up to Dwali that is about 2500m high. The best part of the trek that passes through waterfalls, log bridges and extraordinary scenic beauty.
Day 6: Dwali - Phurkia (3206 M/14300 Ft)
Overlooking the barren ice, a short trek of 5 km takes you to Phurkia. This is smallest of all path.
Day 7: Phurkia - Pindari Glacier (3900 M/12870 Ft)
& km trek to reach zero point where Pindari Glacier can be viewed in full glory. the amazing mixture of lush greenery with white patches of snow is simply beautiful.
