Location : Vibrant towns are jumping point for nearby hill stations like Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Sikkim, eastern Nepal and Bhutan. The place is in the northern side of West Bengal and 600 km from Kolkata.
How To Reach : Nearest airport is domestic Bagdogra (12km from the city). Nearest railway head New Jalpaiguri Station(NJP). Siliguri is well connected with nearby states as well as Kolkata. Bus service avaliable from Esplanade(Kolkata)
Where To Stay : There are plenty of options available in Siliguri. Choose from star to budget hotels.

Jalpaiguri is an important jumping point for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Sikkim, other northeastern states, Sikkim, Bhutan and Nepal. Situated at the northern end of West Bengal, twin towns of Jalpaiguri and Siliguri is quite untouched by popular tourism. The calm town is lined with small bungalows along the gushing river Teesta. Jalpainguri is famous for its dense forests and lush tea plantations. There are also ample scope of wildlife and other adventure activities.

One Horned Rhinoceros, Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary

Siliguri is located strategically at the northern point of the West Bengal and its the part of district Darjeeling. In fact it is the second largest city in West Bengal after kolkata. it connects other hill stations of the northeastern states of India and important stopover point for planning and shopping. Siliguri becomes a happening city because of heavy rush of tourists every year. The beautiful landscape and glimpse of snowy peak at the background, Siliguri is rejuvenating and enjoyable for spending couple of days. Inspiring hilly ambiance perfectly mix with city diaspora is the unique attribute of Siliguri. There are plenty of shopping options with big shopping centers and also inexpensive but attractive roadside shopping stalls. Good place of food lovers where almost every type of food is available at every corner of the street. There is no good reason for tourists to linger in the city for few days.

Sight And Activities

Cooch Behar
The picturesque town lies close to Siliguri. Once a princely town now acts as an administrative headquarters of Cooch Behar district. The place is famous for lakes, palaces and temples. Don’t miss a stroll around the lake Sagardighi and sneak into the royal palace of erstwhile maharaja.

Mirik
The small town is halfway between Siliguri and Darjeeling. Though a low profile hill station but surely a great place to visit. The best part of Mirik are undulating tea estate and mighty Kanchenjunga at the background. Boating in Sumendu lake is one of the popular activities in Mirik.

Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary
Jaldapara wildlife sanctuary is a home of West Bengal most varied flora and fauna. The dense forest is a home of large beasts like elephant, endangered one horned rhinos, wild boar and bisons. There are three ways to explore the jungle. First one is the popular way that is on the back of elephant. Second one is rare jeep safari and third one is ever rarer walking ( not recommended).

Jalpesh
The small and segregated place is located about 25km from Jalpaiguri. You can either take taxi or hired car to reach the place or you can hire van rickshaws from Mainaguri to reach the place. There is nothing much to see but an equanimity in the air poise your soul. you can visit the medieval temple of Lord Shiva built by Cooch Behar king in 1665.

Kalijhora
This is a scenic spot located 27 km from Siliguri town
